Web Design, Football, The Life & The End Of The World
WEB DESIGN I have been working on a lot of web design this year. The new web developer on our team has enabled me to implement some much needed improvements to the corporate website powertochange.org. This includes the staff video gallery, event calendar, president’s blog and ministry blogs. I have also been working on a new site for Oasis (which included a new logo and re-branding of the ministry) and FamilyLife Canada two ministries part of Power to Change. You can view Oasis here. FamilyLife should be done in the new year.

FOOTBALL This year I volunteered and attended the annual Athletes in Action Grey Cup Breakfast. This gathering of football players, coaches and fans that we put on is something amazing that people just don’t know about. Every year over a 1000 people meet the day before the Grey Cup final and hear from players from both final teams. Many players are Christian and God uses the high profile of professional sport to proclaim the Gospel. This year was the biggest event with about 1500 people – 150 who prayed to receive Christ. It is an honour to be part of this and help with all the design that is needed. If I had to describe this event in a sentence I would say the Grey Cup Breakfast is about living life with Jesus and having bold faith to proclaim it. Next year it is in Toronto. If you like football and if you like to see how God is moving in the world of sport it is worthwhile to attend.
THE LIFE The Life is a new initiative that I have been working on with Power to Change and TruthMedia. I have helped design the logo, materials like the commitment card and the website. It is a bold challenge for Christians to live the life of Christ and commit to serving Him any time, any where, at any cost, to do any thing. It’s dangerous to say the least. Even the most dedicated follower of Christ needs to think about signing their name to such a commitment. God is searching for leaders to stand in the gap and obey Him with their heart, mind and soul. People who are all in for God. Jesus talks about the abundant life He has come to give which is Himself. Christians should be all in, but what does this really look like for us today? We hope this initiative will help people live by faith and the holy spirit and get accountable with other Christians to live the life God has called them to. If we are serious about changing the spiritual direction of a nation and seeing our friends, family and colleagues know freedom in Christ, it must start with us.
THE END? As you probably know, a lot has been made about the year 2012 being the end of the world. I think it fitting to commit to God at the beginning of this year to live The Life to whatever end whenever that may be according to Christ’s perfect will and grace. I have been waiting and praying to make this commitment to God and sign The Life card and would like you to join me in doing so for the new year. What do you say? Will you join me? You can visit thelife.com as one way to begin this faith adventure. Send me an email to let me know if you did. I would love to hear your story!
Together we are giving. Together change is happening. Together we rejoice for unto us a child is born and his name is Emmanuel; God is with us. Together.
